INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON METALLURGICAL COATINGS AND THIN FILMS (ICMCTF) 2013
The International Conference on Metallurgical Coatings and Thin Films (ICMCTF) is internationally recognized as the premier international conference focused on thin-film deposition, characterization, and advanced surface engineering. It brings together scientists, engineers, and technologists from academia, government laboratories, and industry, thereby merging cutting-edge research with real-world applications. The conference consistently draws more than 700 attendees each year within 32 oral technical sessions and a well-attended poster session.
2013, the conference took place from April 29 - May 3, 2013. Dr. Ante Hecimovic represented the Research Department "Plasmas with Complex Interactions" and gave an oral presentation entitled “The characteristic shape of emission profiles of plasma spokes in HiPIMS: the role of secondary electrons”. The presentation focused on the latest findings related to the plasma inhomogeneities observed in high power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS/HPPMS) discharge. Based on the experimental data and modelling of the discharge a model explaining the physical mechanism behind the plasma inhomogeneities has been presented.
